30th August – 5th September
Phase 1
The journey began with planning and preparation, working closely with our fitters to create a clear vision of what we wanted to achieve. Design work started on our first two displays, Aria and Design Station 1, while meetings with suppliers and networks helped secure key commitments for the project.
6th September – 12th September
Phase 2
The rip-out phase officially got underway.
Chris, Tommy and Lochlann joined the team and played a huge part in helping bring our vision to life. Their contribution has been invaluable, and they will continue to support future installations once the showroom is open.
Highlights from the week included:
- Three internal walls removed to create space for the new Working Kitchen.
- The first skip filled on day one, a sign of just how much work was being undertaken.
- The altar was removed (after a brief moment of reflection and forgiveness!).
- Dave joined the team, generously giving his time and effort to help move the project forward.
By the end of the week, all partition walls had been constructed and were ready for plastering. Wallpaper removal also began, while the designs for the Working Kitchen and Media Wall were finalised and ordered.
13th September – 19th September
Phase 3
Wallpaper removal continued, with some walls revealing three layers of paper that had built up over decades.
At the same time, we worked closely with our marble supplier to select the perfect stone combinations for each display. The design for our aptly named “Showstopper” Display was finalised and ordered, while plastering commenced throughout the showroom.
20th September – 26th September
Phase 4
Yet more wallpaper removal, hopefully for the final time. If I never see a roll of wallpaper again it would be too soon!
Plastering progressed well, with the majority of preparation work completed. Some plumbing and electrical works remained, but momentum continued to build.
Key milestones included:
- Delivery of the first display, Aria, and Design Station 1.
- Painting commenced on newly plastered walls.
- The showroom finally started to feel like a finished space rather than a building site.
27th September – 3rd October
Phase 5
This week brought some major milestones and a real sense of excitement.
- Final painting for Phase 1 was completed.
- Flooring was laid throughout key areas.
- Appliances began arriving in preparation for installations.
- Window vinyl graphics were installed, helping create excitement and anticipation for what’s to come.
-
The first display, Aria, was almost fully installed pending arrival of a few peices.
- Design Station 1 was completed.
Work also began on the Media Wall, and the floor was levelled in preparation for the Working Kitchen installation scheduled for next week.
With every delivery, installation and finishing touch, the vision is becoming a reality. The excitement continues to grow, and we cannot wait to share the finished showroom with everyone 🏡✨
