Declutter Your Kitchen Cupboards And Drawers In 3 Easy Steps

25 September 2024

Over the years, kitchen cupboards and drawers can become a bit messy. Food, utensils, and appliances can start to stack up and clutter your space making it difficult to navigate every day activities. If you struggle to declutter your kitchen then follow our 3 easy steps to get started today.

Step 1.

Remove Your Contents

To declutter your kitchen, the first thing you will need to do is remove all the existing contents from your cupboards and drawers. It’s important to kick things off with a fresh start, otherwise you will find that you may not complete the decluttering process to a satisfactory standard. This may result in your space quickly reverting back to it’s previous messy state.

Step 2.

Reprioritise Your Items

During the first step, you may find yourself identifying old items that are no longer required. Although it can be hard to say goodbye to old worn out oven mitts that have cooked thousand meals for the whole family, this is an important part of the decluttering process. You should only stock your cabinets with items that are necessary and they should be structured appropriately.

Step 3.

Reorganise Your Space

Now that you have identified what is going back in storage and what you are parting with, it’s time to reorganise your contents. Typically, lower units should be utilised to store appliances and utensils while all your food should be kept at eye level for easy access. Furthermore, it is important to implement a system when replacing items in your cupboards and drawers. Make sure to categorise your contents and prioritise items that are more frequently used, while limiting the need to rummage.
