Now it’s time to bake! Follow these easy steps to create your very own pumpkin cupcakes this Halloween.
- Heat your oven to 180/160ºc fan and prep 12 cupcake cases.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter with the caster sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and flour and mix again until smooth.
- Add the vanilla flavouring, and the orange food colouring to the mixture and beat.
- Spoon the mix into the cupcake cases evenly and bake in the oven for 20-22 minutes before leaving them to cool fully on a wire rack.
- Beat the butter in a large bowl for a couple of minutes to loosen it – gradually mix in the icing sugar until well combined.
- Remove a tablespoon of buttercream, place in a small bowl, and add the green food colouring.
- Colour the rest of the buttercream orange.
- Pipe the orange buttercream onto the cupcakes, and then pipe small thin amounts of green buttercream for a tendril.
