“This family favourite is perfect for those cosy Winter nights. I hope you all enjoy!” – Emma

To complete this recipe, you will need to get your hands on the following key ingredients:

  • 4 large ripe pears
  • 100g golden granulated sugar
  • 250g blackberries
  • 200g plain flour
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 85g shelled pistachio

Method

Now you have all your ingredients, it’s time to start baking your Pear & Berry Crumble with our step-by-step guide.

Start by pre-heating your oven to 190 degrees celsius while cooking your pears on the hob in medium sized pan with granulated sugar. Cook for 10 minutes or until the fruit begins to soften and the juices release. Next, add the blackberries and bring back to the boil. Remove from the heat and spoon the mixture into a large baking dish.

Utilise a large bowl to combine flour, butter, and a little salt by rubbing together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Then add the pistachios and demerara sugar before stirring.

Gently sprinkle the crumble evenly over the cooked fruit before baking until golden. For a small dish, this may only take 20-25 minutes, however anything larger can take up to 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool briefly before serving with custard or your choice of topping.
